72 UNGA: Statement by the delegation of Cuba at the Youth Dialogue of the General Assembly. New York, May 30, 2018

We thank the President of the General Assembly for convening and organizing this event, which is a useful framework for the exchange of experiences on the role of young people as promoters of peace and development.

72 UNGA: Statement by the delegation of the Republic of Cuba to the United Nations at the high-level event on the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development” (2018-2028). New York, 23 March 2018.

Mr. President,

Cuba associates itself with the statements made by Egypt on behalf of the G77 and Maldives on behalf of the Small Island Developing States.

We welcome the convening of this timely high-level event to launch the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development", 2018-2028.

The issue of water is at the heart of human survival. As it is wisely asserted: "Water is Life". Access to this resource is a human right whose full enjoyment by all is an objective yet to be reached.

72 UNGA: Statement by the Representative of Cuba at the Special Commemorative Ceremony to pay tribute to the Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz. New York, November 28, 2017.

Dear Comrades,

On behalf of the people of Cuba, their government and the relatives, we express our gratitude for your attendance at this commemorative ceremony dedicated to paying homage to the life and work of the Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.

Fidel Castro or Fidel, as we Cubans simply call him, was a man who never sought the path where advantage lay, but rather the path where duty lay. He had a deep humanistic vocation, a solid Christian education, a solid Marxist education, and a solid universal revolutionary background.

72 UNGA: Statement by the Cuban delegation in the High-Level Donor Conference for Recovery of the Caribbean after Hurricanes Irma and Maria. New York, 21 November 2017.

Mr. Chairman,

We are deeply grateful for the convening of this meeting in such difficult times for the countries affected by the destructive hurricanes Irma and Maria.

The increasingly devastating and frequent brunt of natural disasters confirms that climate change is a threat to the survival of humanity and to the sustainable development of peoples.

The recent passage of hurricanes Irma and Maria through the Caribbean region demonstrated once again the vulnerabilities of Small Island Developing States in the face of natural events of this magnitude.

Statement of Ambassador Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, at the commemorative event of the 91st Anniversary of the Birth of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.

Dear friends of the Solidarity Movement with Cuba in the United States;

Dear brothers and sisters of the diplomatic missions to the United Nations who have joined us in this special occasion;

Once again, I wish to reiterate what we have said on many occasions, when we referring to the figure of the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution: We will never be able to speak about Fidel in the past tense. I’m sure this is the feeling of everyone gathered here today.

71 AGNU: Statement by the Cuban delegation on Global Geospatial Information Management.

New York, 2 August 2017.

Thanks Mr. President,

We consider of great importance the work carried out by the working group on Global Geospatial Information Management. In this sense:

The Caribbean Project, promoted by UN-GGIM Americas, has worked in the strengthening of the capacities of member countries on geospatial management, with traditional focus and palpable results.

Statement by Ms. Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, Cuban Ambassador to the UN, at the event organized by the Solidarity Movement with Cuba in Commemoration of National Rebellion Day.

Dear friends, sisters and brothers of the solidarity movement,

José Martí, Apostle of the independence of our country and intellectual author of the Moncada attack, said and I quote: “To honor, brings honor.” Following this Marti’s maxim, today we pay tribute to the Generation who did not let the Apostle die in the Year of his Centenary and turned his thought into action.
