The 38 Session of the Intergovernmental Commission for economic and scientific-technical collaboration between Cuba and Vietnam concluded today with the signing of several agreements in the areas of agriculture, fisheries, biotechnology and science, as well as for the development of the Bilateral Economic Agenda to 2020 -2025.
Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba and co-president of the bilateral mechanism, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, praised the special framework in which the meeting took place, developed virtually due to the pandemic, since this year both nations celebrate 60 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Malmierca thanked the support provided by Vietnam in the year that is almost ending, in which Cuba has had to face the pandemic and the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.
Pham Hong Ha, Vietnam's Minister of Construction, referred to the development of economic and trade relations between the two countries over the past year, emphasizing that Vietnam will continue to encourage national companies to undertake new investment projects in Cuba.
At the ceremony, the Medal of Friendship was awarded to the Minister of Construction of Vietnam, a distinction that recognizes his contributions and solidarity with Cuba.
