On occasion of July 26, the President of the Association of Graduates in Cuba visits the Embassy of Cuba in Sri Lanka.
On the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada Barracks, the President of the Sri Lankan Graduate Association in Cuba, K. R. D. C. Rathnamudali, accompanied by Asitha Dias, secretary of the association, were received by the Cuban ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, who transmitted a message of solidarity to Cuba and the Revolution.
They expressed their gratitude for the opportunity that Cuba offered them by being able to carry out higher studies, knowledge, which they have put to the benefit of their country.
The meeting was propitious to reiterate solidarity with Cuba, especially, in these moments of tightening of the blockade of the United States and for the continuous aggressions carried out against Cuba.
The Moncada action carried out by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and a group of brave young people on July 26, 1953, has had repercussions in the press organs of Sri Lanka and through messages of solidarity sent on the occasion of that historic anniversary.
