Sri Lanka, January 24, 2017. - The Honorable Susil Premajayantha, Minister of Science, Technology and Research of Sri Lanka received the Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, at the Ministry's headquarters, where they exchanged views on the possibilities of expanding cooperation between the two countries in the sector of science. The Minister also expressed his satisfaction with the visit made to Cuba last year, when he signed a Memorandum for bilateral cooperation with his Cuban counterpart.
The Honorable Susil Premajayantha is also the Chairman of the Group of Friendship with Cuba in the Sri Lankan Parliament.
For her part, the Ambassador of Cuba gave an update on the main progress made in relation to the process of economic and social transformation in which our country is immersed, as well as on the main effects suffered by the Caribbean island as a result of the blockade imposed by the Government of the United States.
