Classical Guitar Concert in Solidarity with Cuba, Venezuela and Palestine

SRI LANKA, January 23, 2018.- Organized by the Guitar Association of Sri Lanka took place during 20, 21 and 22 of January 2018, in the towns of Colombo, Kandy and Kallutara, the Annual Classical Guitar Festival, dedicated on this occasion to express solidarity with Cuba, Venezuela and Palestine.

The Indian guitarist, Aditya Gandhi, performed the music of prominent Cuban musician Leo Brouwer and Venezuelan guitarist Antonio Lauro. Several groups and soloists from the localities where the event took place also participated.

The Guitar Association expressed its rejection of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba. The sanctions imposed by the current US administration against Venezuela were also rejected, as well as the unilateral decision of that administration to declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The Ambassador of Cuba, present at the event, expressed appreciation to Sri Lanka for its support of our country's fight against the blockade and reiterated the support of Cuba to the peoples of Venezuela and Palestine.
