Cuba will not be able to acquire pulmonary ventilators with several of its habitual suppliers when two manufacturers of these medical equipment are acquired by a US company. These devices are key elements in the care of serious and critical people by COVID-19.
The company Medicuba, an exporting and importing entity of the Ministry of Public Health, received notification that the manufacturers IMT Medial AG and Acutronic had been acquired by the US company Vyaire Medical Inc. based in Illinois, and therefore reported that “the corporate guideline that we have today is to suspend any commercial relationship with Medicuba”.
The complaint was made on his Twitter account by the Director General of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex), Eugenio Martínez Enríquez.
While the UN and other voices in the world call for cooperation and solidarity in these times of pandemic, the United States government persists in its genocidal blockade against Cuba and other nations. The world's greatest power denies the right to life to a small and struggling town, which today provides solidarity help with health personnel in 59 countries of the world and has already sent almost two dozen medical support brigades to the same number of countries in need of health personnel to face the COVID-19 attacks.
