The blockade continues: Sanction against US travel insurance company Generali Global Assistance, Inc. (GGA) for violating the blockade against Cuba

New York, 5 October 2020. The current administration of Donald Trump continues its policy of harassment to the Cuban people and economy. The most recent example was the imposition of a hefty fine on the US travel insurance company Generali Global Assistance, Inc. (GGA) by the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). 

Human Rights in Cuba: Access to health for all the people

New York,  6  October 2020. Cuba has a unique, free of charge and accessible health system, based on primary health care, which guarantees universal coverage and access to all Cubans without discrimination on grounds of sex, economic status, skin color, religious belief or political affiliation.

The right to health is enshrined in the Cuban Constitution.

US blockade hinders the work of the United Nations System in Cuba

New York, 5 October 2020. Cuba representative to the United Nations, Second Secretary Juan Miguel González Peña, participated today in the debate of the Second Committee on agenda item 24 “Operational Activities for Development”, of the United Nations Second Committee.
