The "responsibility to protect" has been manipulated in the past for political purposes, states Cuba.

Estimates in respect of special political missions, good offices and other political initiatives authorized by the General Assembly and/or the Security Council. Cuban industry faces hostile U.S. policy.

New York, 15 October 2019. Several sectors related to Cuba's economic development face the hostile policy of U.S. blockade, now reinforced with the stance of Donald Trump's administration, not only towards the island, but towards all the progressive governments of Latin America.  

Total losses in the transportation sector exceeded 170,000,000 dollars between April of 2018 and March of 2019.

The U.S. blockade hinders the development of tourism and telecommunications in Cuba.

New York, 11 October 2019. From April 2018 to March 2019, the tightening of the blockade continued to be the nerve center of the U.S. government policy towards Cuba, with increasingly notable effects in its extraterritorial application. The U.S. strategy focused on consolidating confrontation and hostility, both on the declarative level and in the implementation of measures of economic aggression against the country.

U.S. blockade violates international rule of law.

New York, 11 October 2019. The Second Secretary of the Mission of Cuba to the United Nations, Indira Guardia González, reiterated today Cuba's unavoidable commitment to promote and strengthen a genuine Rule of Law, which will contribute to changing the current unjust international order.
