Press Release: UN Secretary General congratulates Cuba on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.

New York, 5 January 2016. -Coinciding with his very first days in office, the Secretary General of the United Nations, H.E. Mr. António Guterres, conveyed a message of congratulations to Cuba on the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.

 “All that we strive for as a human family -dignity and hope, progress and prosperity- depends on peace”, he reiterated while recalling his call for peace, made during his first day in office as Secretary General of the Organization.

Press Release: Cuba deposits instrument of ratification to “Doha’s amendment to the Kyoto Protocol”.

New York, 28 December 2016.-The United Nations Organization headquarters hosted the ceremony for the deposit of the instrument of ratification of the Republic of Cuba to “Doha’s amendment to the Kyoto Protocol”, adopted in December 2012.

The Deposit Ceremony was held with the presence of Mrs. Arnacha Hinojal, Acting Director of the UN Treaty Division, who received this instrument and, on behalf of the Secretary-General, expressed appreciation for Cuba’s adherence to this treaty.

Press Release: Cuba deposits instrument of ratification to the “Paris Agreement in the Framework Convention on Climate Change”.

New York, 28 December 2016.-The United Nations Organization headquarters hosted the ceremony for the deposit of the instrument of ratification of the Republic of Cuba to the “Paris Agreement in the Framework Convention on Climate Change”, adopted on 22 April, 2016.

The Deposit Ceremony was held with the presence of Mrs. Arnacha Hinojal, Acting Director of the UN Treaty Division, who received this instrument and, on behalf of the Secretary-General, expressed appreciation for Cuba’s adherence to this treaty.
