International cooperation is one of the pillars of the Cuban socialist system, that is why since April 2016 to date, the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba has shown no mercy with regard to the cooperation projects that Cuba is developing worldwide. He also allowed American banking institutions to open offices in the island as well as other facilities, such as permitting local banks to open and maintain accounts of Cuban citizens.
