President Díaz-Canel to attend NAM´s Online Summit

Havana, 2 May 2020. The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, will participate in the Online Summit entitled "We stand together against COVID-19", convened by Azerbaijan in its capacity as Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement, in the format of a Contact Group, which comprises representatives from various regions making up the Movement.

The event, which will be held via videoconference on Monday, 4 May at 7 a.m. (Cuban local time), will be chaired by Azerbaijan´s President, Ilham Aliyev.

Cuban citizens stranded in Trinidad and Tobago return to Cuba on a humanitarian evacuation flight

Port of Spain, May 1, 2020. A group of 31 Cuban citizens stranded in Trinidad and Tobago returned to the country, based on the regulations established by both countries as part of the plan to confront Covid-19. The return has been possible thanks to the coordinated effort between the Cuban and Trinidadian authorities, under strict compliance with internationally established standards.

Coincidentally with the May Day celebrations, the #Henry Revee International Medical Brigade, consisting of 11 nursing graduates, all women, arrived in Trinidad and Tobago; They will become part of the front line in the confrontation with COVID19 in Trinidad and Tobago, which will join the current collaborators of the Cuban Medical Brigade that since 2003 has been serving in this country.

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs timely informed, around 2 o’clock today, that is, in the early hours in the morning of today, Thursday, April 30, 2020, a terrorist attack was perpetrated against the embassy of the Republic of Cuba to the United States in Washington. An unidentified individual shot at the building of the Cuban embassy in the US using an assault rifle. 

Cuba's Foreign Minister highlights solidarity to fight against the pandemic

Havana, April 23, 2020.- Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez reiterated on Thursday that solidarity is vital in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, a principle that the country abibe by with 22 medical teams helping 21 countries.

On Twitter, the Cuban foreign minister highlighted the departure to Cape Verde of a new group of Cuban healthcare professionals belonging to the International Henry Reeve Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics.
