A first group of Cuban doctors and nurses arrived in Bisha, a mountainous area of the West of Saudi Arabia, on November 29th, 2020. Their arrival had been delayed due to the inconvenient conditions in the international travel after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, signed the instrument of accession of Cuba to the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), during a ceremony within the framework of the 37th Summit of the Association of Nations of the Southeast Asia, made virtually.
The event was attended by the foreign ministers of the ten member countries of that regional organization and the Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Vietnam, Pham Binh Minh, representing the country that presides over ASEAN in 2020.

We evaluate ways to contribute to mutual knowledge between Latin America and New Zealand.
We will work for a greater approach to the region and future projects with Cuba.
Why Cuban doctors are on the coronavirus front line globally?
The rector of the Turkmenistan State University, Bayramgul Orazdurdiyeva, showed interest in collaborating with Cuban institutions during a meeting with the Cuban ambassador to this Central Asian nation, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo.
The work meeting held at the university headquarters, allowed, according to the Cuban diplomat, to evaluate collaborative projects and strengthen the relations of friendship between the two nations.
Orlando Requeijo, Cuban Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has paid a working visit to the Saudi Export Program (SEP) headquarters, one of the branches of the Saudi Development Fund, in Riyadh. He was welcomed by the new SEP Director-General, Mr. Abdulmohsen bin Abdulrahman Al Khayal.
HE Dr. Saud bin Saleh Kateb, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Public Diplomacy Affairs, received at his office in the Foreign Ministry headquarters the Cuban Ambassador in Riyadh, Orlando Requeijo.
CUBA, July 10, 2019.- Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, and Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, yesterday afternoon received the Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, on an official visit to our country.
The rector of the University of Administration and Tourism of Azerbaijan (ATMU), Ilham Madatov, praised the collaboration between Havana and Baku during a meeting with the ambassador of Cuba in this Caucasian nation, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo.
Madatov expressed the will of his center to promote ties with the island and encourage the preparation of its students through university exchange programs in Cuban institutions.
