Ambassador paid a courtesy call on the new Secretary of Foreign Relations Ministry of Sri Lanka

SRI LANKA, September 11, 2020. - The Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, paid a courtesy call on the new Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Admiral (R) Jayanath Colombage.

During the meeting, both parties highlighted the historical relations of friendship and cooperation between both countries, as well as the mutual interest in continuing to strengthen them. Issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.

Media silence about Cuba's contributions against Covid-19 denounced

Havana, September 5, 2020. Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez denounced the international media silence about Cuba's scientific contributions to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

On his Twitter account, the head of Cuban diplomacy noted that, even if men and women of science in the country 'share their achievements with the world, they show the protocols against the pandemic and the results of a Cuban vaccine candidate,' little information show that effort.

 

Clinical trials of Cuban COVID-19 vaccine candidate begin Monday

The strategy for the development of "Soberana 01" -- the first Cuban vaccine candidate against COVID-19 with authorization to begin clinical trials -- was officially presented at the Palace of the Revolution during a meeting between the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and the scientists and experts who have worked directly in the fight against the epidemic.
