We, members of the Cuban Medical Brigade that will assist the brother people of South Africa in the battle against the COVID19 pandemic, representatives of our people and faithful followers of the deeply humanistic principles and values of the Cuban Revolution,
Pretoria, April 30, 2020.- 'To the Cuban people we say, we are aware that when you left Angola after the historic victory [over the racist apartheid regime in the Battle of CuitoCuanavale in 1988] you did not demand either gold or diamonds, and you did not take anything whatsoever but you left only with the corpses of your fallen combatants. We have many of their names inscribed here at the Freedom Park. We will forever be indebted to you for the march to liberation in our region and country, the march that you left behind for us to defend, advance and deepen.
Pretoria, April 28, 2020.- President Cyril Ramaphosa welcomes Cuban health professionals to support efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 in South Africa.
217 Cuban health specialists and workers have arrived in South Africa today, Monday, 27 April 2020 to assist with the fight to curb the spread of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Their arrival follows a request made by HE President Cyril Ramaphosa to HE President Díaz Canel Bermúdez of Cuba.
The experts will support efforts being made in South Africa to contain the spread of COVID 19.

Cuba is sharing its health personnelwith the world, including our country. Since April this year,Cuba has sent medical personnel to fight COVID-19 to over 15 countries - from Angola to Italy and Andorra - and thenumber continues to grow.
