Cuba has administered almost 31 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines

Havana, 6 January 2022. Cuba on Thursday reported that it has administered its population 30,925,470 doses of Covid-19 vaccines Soberana 02, Abdala and Soberana Plus, developed by the domestic biopharmaceutical industry.

Some 10,455,713 people have received at least one shot; 9,309,296 people have been administered two and 8,950,875 have received three doses, the Ministry of Public Health reported taking into account the Jan.4 update.

Ambassador of Cuba exchanges with International Secretary of the Communist Party of Norway (NKP)

Oslo, January 5, 2022. The ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, held a friendly meeting with Svend Haakon Jakobsen, international secretary of the Communist Party of Norway (NKP).

The Ambassador thanked for the actions in support of Cuba that the NKP has traditionally carried out, especially those of last year 2021 aimed at demanding the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States and denouncing the ongoing campaign of subversion and destabilization against the Cuban Revolution.

Mexico: Cuban Covid-19 vaccine has the quality required


After giving a report on the situation of the pandemic, Alcocer replied to a question from a journalist that the Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (COFEPRIS) accepted it as it always does with new drugs.

He said that COFEPRIS has evolved a lot in its scientific condition, which makes it another type of organism and incorporates or recognizes only well-endorsed drugs, even by other countries that have that capacity.

Celebrated 38th anniversary of Health program

The 38th anniversary of the Family Doctor and Nurse Program in Cuba, an idea conceived by the historical leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro, was celebrated today in this central territory.

In Manaca Ranzola, in the municipality of Fomento, the provincial ceremony was held to recognize family doctors and nurses with relevant work in this program, considered essential for the development of Public Health on the Island.

Vitrofural chemical product received award in Cuba

Santa Clara, Cuba, Jan 4 (Prensa Latina) The Vitrofural, a chemical sterilizer produced at the Center of Chemical Bioactives (CBQ, in Spanish) received the Award for Technological Innovation, the institution's authorities, in this central city of Cuba, reported on Tuesday.

This prize is granted by Cuba’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment and was awarded this time to this product, unique of its kind in the world for the mass benefit of vitroplants.

Cuban foreign minister denounces US actions against tourism

Havana, 5 January 2022. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Wednesday denounced the actions by the government of the United States to affect the recovery of Cuba's tourism, as part of its strategy of economic asphyxiation.

Rodriguez wrote on his Twitter account that these measures are intended to hide the fact that, unlike in the United States, in Cuba the income from that sector is used for the people’s benefit.

Cuba speeds up production, transportation of vaccines due to Omicron

Havana, 5 January 2022. Cuba is speeding up the production and transportation of vaccines to the country's provinces to administer the booster dose, due to the the danger posed by the Omicron variant of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, President Miguel Diaz-Canel said on Wednesday.

The Public Health Ministry (MINSAP) assured that by the end of January the entire Cuban population should have received a new dose of the home-grown vaccines, the president wrote on his Twitter account.

Cuban Ambassador presents Letters of Credential to the Honorable President of Ethiopia.
