With the motto Keep Trump out of Latin America – Solidarity with Venezuela! a day of solidarity with the sister country was held on Friday 6 October. The Ecuador, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba together standing against Trump panel discussion was held, where the Ambassadors of Nicaragua and Cuba took the floor, as well as some representatives from Ecuadorian and Venezuelan Embassies.
In her speech, Cuban Ambassador Teresita Vicente Sotolongo stressed the importance of Latin American unity, a zone of peace, to dismantle the escalation of the Trump government against our countries. Ambassador Sotolongo condemned the onslaught on all fronts against Venezuela, and made reference to the recently approved "NICA Act" bill, another form of aggression organized from the US territory against Nicaragua. The Ambassador concluded her speech by assuring those present that despite the threats, we will overcome with unity because "a better world is possible."
