Cuba in Kenya

Ambassador of Cuba in Kenya visited University of Nairobi.

Nairobi, 26 September. Professor Peter M.F. Mbithi, the highest authority of the University of Nairobi, received the Cuban ambassador in Kenya, Ernesto Gomez Díaz, at the headquarters of that house of high studies, who paid him a courtesy call today.

During the fraternal meeting, both sides addressed the potential for developing bilateral cooperation in the areas of teaching and scientific research, especially in the fight against malaria and human resource formation, among many other fields.


Nairobi, September 13.Kenya, Cuba relations continue to deepen as the two countries cooperate in different areas following the inaugurate Kenya Mission in Havana by Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Amb Monica Juma in 2016.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony of Foreign Service officers’ Spanish language course facilitated by Cuban Government through Cuban Embassy and Cuban Diplomatic Academy, Principal Secretary Amb Monica Juma commended the Cuba for the support on capacity building.

Cuba Ambassador visits Standard Group Limited

Nairobi, September 14. The Cuba Ambassador to Kenya, Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN-Habitat Mr Ernesto Gomez Diaz on Thursday 14 held discussions on partnership areas with Standard Group’s Acting CEO Mr Orlando Lyomu. Ambassador Diaz and Mr Orlando discussed ways in which Standard Group Limited can collaborate with the Cuban Embassy to create more awareness and better understanding of Cuba on the Group’s media platforms.
