Cuba in Kenya


Cuba has honoured Kenya’s founding father, as a towering figure in African and Caribbean liberation movement.

A bust of founding President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta was unveiled at the Park of African Heroes in Cuba on Thursday March 15 at a ceremony attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Cuban leadership said the unveiling of the Bust of the late President Kenyatta at the Park of African Heroes in Havana was significant as it goes along way in demonstrating the rich history Kenya and Cuba have in terms of Liberation struggles.

PSCUHAVANA, Cuba, Mar 18—President Uhuru Kenyatta today concluded his historic State visit to the Caribbean nation of Cuba that was sharply focused on health, trade and heritage.

President Kenyatta departed Jose Marti International airport aboard a commercial aircraft shortly after midnight (7 am Sunday Kenyan time), after getting back on track a wide-ranging health agreement signed earlier but never implemented.

There were also quick wins in sports and agriculture.

In an atmosphere of cordiality, the two leaders agreed on emphasizing the relations of friendship that exist between their countries and their intention to strengthen political ties and cooperation

Jubilee Secretary General received the Cuban Ambassador in Kenya.

Nairobi, February 27. The Honorable Raphael Tuju, Secretary General of the Jubilee political party, received today Cuban Ambassador to Kenya, Ernesto Gómez Díaz, who paid a courtesy call on him, at the headquarters of the political organization.

The Cuban diplomat congratulated Tuju for the victory of Jubilee in the last elections held on October 26, where Uhuru Kenyatta, leader of this political formation, was reelected as the President of Kenya. Jubilee was founded in 2016, after several parties were merged.
