Cuban residents in Ghana celebrate the Father's Day

A representation of the Cuban residents in Ghana and their relatives, along with the members of the Embassy of Cuba, paid a well-deserved tribute to the Cuban fathers.

The Cuban young woman resident in Ghana, Maday Valdés, on behalf of all the participants, highlighted the leading role that Cuban fathers play in the family life, and in the formation of future generations, patriotism and the preservation of national culture.

During the activity the attendees tasted typical dishes of Cuban cuisine and enjoyed the Cuban music.

National Chairman of the ruling party in Ghana receives the Ambassador of Cuba

The Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González paid a visit to the headquarters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), where he was received by his National Chairman, Mr. Frederick Worsemao Armah Blay (Freddie Blay).

The meeting, held in a relaxed atmosphere, allowed to review issues of bilateral interest, and led to progress in future actions that will strengthen relations at the level of party, government and society in general.

The New Patriotic Party is currently the main political party in the country; it is in power since January 2017.

Commemorate the 56th Anniversary of the African Union at the Cuban Embassy in Ghana

A political and cultural activity was held at the Embassy of Cuba in Ghana in tribute to the 56th anniversary of the Day of African Unity (AU), which was headed by the Ambassador, Pedro Luis Despaigne González.

The main speakers at the event were the leader of the Socialist Forum of Ghana, Mr. Kwesi Pratt Jr.; Mr. Benjamin Anyagre, a Ghanaian graduate of Cuba; the Cuban resident in Ghana, Dr. Claribel Cabarrocas; and Ambassador Kojo Owusu Gyamadua Amoo-Gottfried, who was directly linked to the beginnings of bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador of Cuba thanks African Union's position against the blockade

The Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, was interviewed at the Embassy's premises by a team from the TV station Kantanka TV, related to the 56th Anniversary of the African Union.

During the interview conducted by journalist Samuel Amoateng, the Cuban diplomat made reference to historical relations with Africa and the AU, and to the legacy of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, in the construction of bonds of solidarity with the Post-colonial African states.

Cuban ambassador highlights the 60 years of diplomatic relations with Ghana

The Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, gave an interview about the meaning of the 60 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries to Dr. Kwasi Owusu-Achaw, a Ghanaian graduate of optometry on the Caribbean island in the 80s of the last century.
