State Minister of Health of Ethiopia received the Cuban Ambassador

Addis Ababa, March, 29, 2019.  The State Minister of Health of Ethiopia, H.E, Ms. Lia Tadesse, received the Cuban Ambassador H.E. Mrs. Vilma Thomas.

Both parties analyzed the current bilateral cooperation in this field that includes the presence of Cuban professionals in health and academic institutions in Ethiopia, as well as the Medicine students in Cuba.  

41 anniversary of the Karamara victory

Addis Ababa, 15 March.  The 41st anniversary of the victory in the Karamara battle was conmemorated in this city by the Cuban and Ethiopian communities.

The Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia, H,E. Vilma Thomas and the President of the Friendship Association Mr. Abebe Ayelew highlighted in their respective remarks the importance of the jointly victory in yhe Ogaden that secured the preservation of the sovereignty and teritorial integrity of Ethiopia against the Somali invasion.

Premiere in Africa of the documentary "Cuba in Africa"

Addis Ababa, March 14.  The premiere in Africa of the documentary "Cuba in Africa" made  by the Ethiopian Negash Abdourahman was presented at the Embassy of Cuba in this capital.

The material is based on the contribution of Cuba to the independence struggles of African countries, as well as to the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of them.  The history is recalled from interviews and anecdotes of the Cuban protagonists of these epic moments. 

Meeting of the Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education

Addis Ababa, 12 de marzo.  The Minister of Science and Higher Education of Ethiopia, H.E. Ms. Hirut Woldemarian welcomed the Cuban Ambassador H.E. Mrs. Vilma Thomas to the Ministry.  Both parties exchanged on the present cooperation between both parties and the perspectives.

In attendance, the State Ministers of that portfolio, as well as the Ambassador designate to Cuba, H.E. Mr. Asfaw Dingamo.

Final parcial results of the Referendum in Cuba

The National Electoral Commission of the Republic of Cuba announced the final parcial results of the Referedum that allowed the appoval of the new Constitution of the country.

6 millions 816 169 Cubans voted YES which represents the 73,31%  of the total of the people registered to vote and  86,85% of the total of voters. The 7,60%  of the total of registered people voted NO.

This is a new victory.  Cuba has a modern supreme law in line with the aspirations of its people.
