Africa against the US blockade

New York, November 1st  :  The UN General Assembly approved the resolution "Necessity to end the economic, financial and commercial embargo of the United States of America against Cuba" by 185 votes in favour and two against (the US and Israel as usual).

All the 54 Un African Member States voted in favour of the Cuban text. Even the eight ammendements proposed by the US were clearly defeated. 

Cubans and Ethio-Cubans witnessed the debate on the U.S. blockade to Cuba

Addis Abeba, October 31st, 2018. The diplomatic personnel of the Embassy of Cuba in Ethipia and the cooperants,  accompanied by a group of Ethio-Cubans as well as the Ambassadors of Venezuela and Ecuador, witnessed the debate of the U.N. General Assembly on the U.S. blockade to Cuba.

The Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia explained the new scenario of this year when the U.S. has presented eight ammenments to the Cuba's Draft Resolution which are unjustified and unnacceptables.

Ethio-Cubans against the U.S. blockade on Cuba

Addis Ababa,  The Ethio.-Cubans signed a message to the Cuban People expressing their opposition to the U.S. blockade on Cuba.  At the same time, they acknowledged the contribution of Cuba to the welfare of Ethiopia, particularly to the former Ethiopian students.

Day of the National Cuban Culture in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, October 20.  The Day of the National Culture was celebrated at the Embassy of Cuba in Ethiopia.

The diplomats, cooperants, Cubans residing in Ethiopia and other friends sang the National Anthem of Cuba followed by the address of Ambassador Vilma Thomas and the Décimas written by Alberto Velázquez.

Cuban cuisine, drinks and good music were part of the event.

The President of Ethiopia received the Cuban delegation to the 40th anniversary

Addis Ababa, October 14, 2018.  The President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, H.E. Mr. Mulatu Teshome, hosted a gala dinner in honour of the Cuban delegation to the 40th anniversary of the jointly victory in the Ogaden and of the beginning of the educational programs for Ethiopians in Cuba.
