STATEMENT BY THE BOTSWANA-CUBA FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION ON THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE 2021 FOR CUBA’S HENRY REEVE INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL BRIGADE
The Botswana-Cuba Friendship Association endorses the international campaign to award the Nobel Peace Prize 2021 to the Cuban Henry Reeve Brigade, due to its valuable contribution to the well-being and healthcare of millions of people in the world.
Gaborone, Cuban Ambassador H.E. Patricia L. Pego Guerra attends the “Meet and Greet Session”, hosted by the Honourable Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Botswana, to officially introduce Dr. Lemogang Kwape, as new Minister, to all heads of diplomatic missions and international organisations resident in Gaborone.
Dr. Kwape expressed gratitude to the international community for rendering support to Botswana during the pandemic.

The Cuban people and the international community are aware of the dishonest campaign that the government of the United States has launched since 2019 to discredit Cuba’s international medical cooperation; exert pressure on the governments that have asked for it and deprive peoples of these health services.
President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez conveyed President Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi cordial congratulations on the occasion of the 54th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Botswana.
September 30th is Botswana National Day since it commemorates the independence of Botswana from the United Kingdom in 1966.

Seven (7) years ago the trio was barely fresh-faced Batswana teens who had just finished secondary school and unfamiliar with the Spanish language. But as they arrived home from Havanna, via Johannesburg last month, the three did not just boast proficiency in the Spanish language, but most importantly, had added titles to their names.
