Cuban Culture Day in Botswana

The Cuban Culture Day is celebrated in Gaborone, with more than 200 personas, from different nationalities and social profiles, who enjoy dancing Salsa, tasting Cuban cigars as well as an exhibition of Cuban traditional products.

Venue is the restaurant Culture Art Café, at Stanbic Piazza, in Molapo Crossing Mall.

Press Conference on the US blockade against Cuba

The blockade imposed by the US government against Cuba is denounced in a Press Conference, held at the Cuban Embassy in Gaborone, with the attendance of journalists and representatives of different media based in Botswana.

H.E. the Ambassador Patricia L. Pego Guerra makes a presentation of the Report of Cuba 2019 and answers the questions from participants.

Botswana stands against the US blockade on Cuba at UN headquarter

H.E. Dr. Unity Dow, Honourable Minister for International Affairs and Cooperation of Botswana, addresses the general debate of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), in New York City.

In her speech, the Minister expressed: “... sanctions on any country do not only affect the entitled country, but also their neighbours and trading partners...”

Botswana has historically voted with Cuba against the US blockade.

Botswana represented in the African Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba

Dr. Phatsimo Lorraine, graduated of the Latin-American School of Medicine (ELAM), in 2019, is the representative of Botswana to the VI African Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba held in Abuja, Nigeria, from September 23 to 25, 2019.

In the event she meets, learns and shares ideas with some revolutionary leaders who follow the legacy of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and the Cuban revolution.

Cuba and Botswana, exchange on sports cooperation.

H.E. the Ambassador Patricia L. Pego Guerra meets with Mr. Tsekedi Khama, Honourable Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development of Botswana, and his staff.

They agree on the existence of new opportunities for the bilateral cooperation, particularly in sports.
