The Ambassador of Cuba in Azerbaijan, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, participated in the National Tourism Summit held in Baku and organized by the State Tourism Agency and the Tourism Office of Azerbaijan.
At the event, the Cuban diplomat held talks with Fuad Naghiyev, Head of the State Tourism Agency and with Florian Sengstschmid, senior director of the Tourism Office of Azerbaijan.
At the opening of the event, the president of the Fuad Naghiyev agency highlighted the importance of developing tourism in Azerbaijan as one of the priority areas of the country's economy.
The Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in the Republic of Turkmenistan, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, attended the reception of the National Day celebrated by the Embassy of this Central Asian nation in Baku and exchanged views with the Turkmen ambassador, Mekan Ishanguliyev, on bilateral relations.
Friendship and fraternity have always been in the relations between Cuba and Turkmenistan, said the Cuban diplomat to congratulate the Azerbaijani ambassador on the official reception to mark the 27th anniversary of the country's independence.
Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Ana Teresita González returned to the island after a tour that took her to several countries in Europe and Central Asia, where she spoke with local authorities and solidarity groups.

The Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ana Teresa González, held a meeting with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Khatuna Totladze, on the occasion of the visit to that Caucasian nation.
At the meeting, the Cuban vice chancellor reiterated the will of our country to maintain the bonds between the two nations on the basis of mutual respect, cooperation and dialogue.
Likewise, the diplomats identified areas of common interest to develop bilateral relations, mainly in the economic-commercial field.
