The film about the life of the Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta was premiered in Australia

Canberra, April 22, 2019.-The film Yuli, inspired by the life of the renowned Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta, was premiered on April 20 at Palace Electric cinema in the Australian capital, as part of the Spanish and Latin American Film Festival 2019.

 Prior to the screening of the film, the Cuban resident and dancer, Erick Turro Martínez, enlivened the event with a mixed choreography of son, mambo and cha cha chá.

Cuban music band “Afro Cuban All Stars” performs in the Australian capital

The renowned Cuban music band “Afro Cuban All Stars” is on tour for the second time in Australia’s main cities after its successful debut in the country eight years ago. Its presentation took place on March 27 in Canberra.

Directed by the legendary producer and musician Juan de Marcos González, and integrated by a generation of young and talented Cuban musicians, this group continues to captivate the foreign audience for its exquisite interpretation and mix of the native rhythms of Cuba like chachachá, timba, guajira, danzón and rumba.

Itinerant Consulate carried out in Sydney city

With the aim of keep providing consular services in the Australian cities where the biggest concentrations of Cuban residents are based, the Embassy of Cuba in Australia organized an Itinerant Consulate in Sydney on 17 March. It was a way to give continuity to similar and positive experiences carried out in 2018.
