Mr Secretary General,

Mr President,

I have come to speak on behalf of a people coerced with the threat of starvation for over 60 years.

In April 1960, in a notorious and long-time secret memorandum, a minor US State Department official  named  Lester Mallory drafted the bases of the policy of blockade against Cuba, aimed at causing hunger, desperation and the overthrow of the government.

Mr. Secretary General;

Mr. President;

We are living uncertain times. Under the demolishing impact of a pandemic that has worsened structural inequities and the global crisis, the role of multilateralism and the United Nations becomes ever more important. And international cooperation has been insufficient.

The implementation of neo-liberal formulas for decades has been reducing States’ capabilities to meet the needs of their populations.

We have closely followed the most recent events in the European Parliament and have noted with disgust that the same faction of MEPs subservient to Washington have contrived to schedule a new debate on Cuba on September 16 next, dragging with them the political groupings to which they belong. This action once again turns the Parliament into a pawn in maneuvers of escalating aggression that is contrary to genuinely European interests and to the respectful dialogue that has characterized Cuba-EU relations.

Open letter to President Biden about Covid Vaccines for Cuba.

President Biden:

You recently referred to Cuba at a White House saying: "I would be prepared to give significant amounts of vaccines if… an international organization would administer those vaccines and do it in a way that average citizens would have access to those vaccines." You also called Cuba a “failed state”.

On the occasion of Fidel's 95th birthday, a new mural in Belfast dedicated to Cuba.

Dublin, August 13, 2021. Today, when we commemorate the 95th anniversary of the birth of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, has been expressly chosen to unveil a new mural in the city of Belfast, dedicated to the Cuban Revolution.

This new image recalls the gigantic Cuban flag that was raised last June on one of the hills that guard the city and also in giant letters the clamor to end the criminal blockade against the Cuban people.
