Beirut, November 30, 2021. In a farewell visit for the end of his diplomatic mission in Lebanon, the Cuban ambassador, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, was received at the Ain El Tineh Palace, by the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri.
During the fraternal meeting, both parties acknowledged the good state of bilateral relations and expressed their willingness to continue strengthening ties between the respective Parliaments, while highlighting their collaboration in different forums and multilateral events.
In view of the interest shown by the leader of the legislature on the situation in Cuba, the Ambassador made an explanation on the situation in the island and the gradual economic recovery after the opening of the country on November 15. The ambassador also discussed Cuba's success in confronting the pandemic and the development of 5 vaccines against Covid-19.
Pellicer Moraga also denounced the damage caused by the blockade imposed by the US and its intensification with the imposition of more than 200 new measures that directly affect the lives of all Cubans.
The diplomat of the Greater of the Antilles thanked the President of the Parliament for the support received by the Lebanese authorities in the performance of his duties and wished a future of peace and prosperity to the brotherly Lebanese people.
For his part, the Speaker of Parliament praised the intelligence and professionalism of Cuban scientists and the Cuban health system, as well as Cuba's resistance and the outstanding role it plays in the international arena, and in the unconditional support to the Arab and Palestinian cause.
