Kefalonia, June 15: A public event of solidarity with Cuba organized by the Cuban Heleno Friendship Association at Kefalonia and the Cuban Embassy was held in the labour centre of Kefalonia, Greek island in the Ionian Sea.
In the event, took the floor Yannis Kourouklis Association President and the Ambassador of Cuba in Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina, who explained the current situation in Cuba, the social economic model update, the Cuban elections, the new Cuban Constitution, the history of the revolution in its 60th anniversary, the intensification of the unfair economic, commercial and financial blockade of USA against Cuba and Trump new measures against Cuba, among other topics of interest.
In addition, she answered many questions from attendees who reaffirmed their support for the Cuban revolution and condemnation of the blockade. Those present asked know how could continue helping Cuba in the struggle against American imperialism. In the audience there were representatives of several Greek political forces, especially members of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and friends of Cuba in general.
Later it was held a bilateral meeting between the Ambassador, the Counselor of the Embassy of Cuba, José Oriol Marrero Martinez and the leadership of the Friendship Association to coordinate future actions of solidarity with the Caribbean island. It was an excellent example of the friendship between the Cuban and Greek peoples.
