Monrovia, October 22nd, 2018-, On Monday afternoon the Commander-in-Chief of the Socialist organization Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia (EFFL), Emmanuel Gonquoi, was received by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Cuban Embassy in Liberia, Yordenis Despaigne Vera. The Liberian delegation was also composed of Fatumata Massaquoi, General Secretary of the Women's Wing of the EFFL. On the Cuban side, the Second Secretary, Carmen Maury Toledo, also participated.
Gonquoi was pleased to explain the genesis and political projection of an organization that, he said, has its roots in the political thought of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz. He made reference to the echo that this movement has found in 11 other African nations, especially in South Africa, whose main driver has been the South African Julius S. Malema. He considered that "the vision of Fidel Castro has allowed Cuba to achieve impressive advances despite being a nation without great resources, because above all it has opted for the improvement and education of the people and the unity of the nation in the face of external and internal challenges ".
For his part, the Cuban diplomat appreciated the visit of the members of this organization and the recognition of the figure of the Commander in Chief, his historical legacy and his commitment to just causes. (CubaMinrex / EmbaCuba Liberia)
