Galway, June, 2019. The NGO Equal Ireland with a tradition in the promotion of cooperation actions between Ireland and Cuba has been coordinator of a commitment that brings together the will of institutions and organizations of different nationalities to jointly promote projects of cooperation in the benefits of the peoples and the City Council of Galway was the chosen scenario to sign an Agreement of intentions between the mentioned actors.
Eddie Higgins and Nuala Keher, executive directors of Equal Ireland, in their introductory words during the act of signing the Agreement highlighted the common efforts that unite the signatories in the promotion of cooperation projects of various kinds, but with special attention to professional training. In this area, the document signed reflects the commitment to promote community cooperation projects and Erasmus scholarships in favor of the Cuban people.

Vasile Alecsandri University of Becau, Romania.
TUCEP of Perugia, Italy.
Wusmed of Girona, Spain.
Mayor Neil McNelis of the city of Galway and Cuban Ambassador to Ireland Hugo Ramos Milanés were eyewitnesses to the signing of the Agreement. Cuban Consul Soraya Torres Jaime was also present, along with officials and friends from the city of Galway.
The Cuban diplomat, thanking the signatories for their commendable commitment, stressed that the value of education for the Cuban Revolution has recently been ratified by the new constitution approved in a referendum, which recognizes the right of all citizens to receive a free education and of excellence from primary to postgraduate education.
Education is a guarantee of freedom and development; it is enrichment of our best capital: human resources.
In the afternoon at the headquarters of the Town Hall Theater, a fruitful discussion and exchange of experiences took place between the protagonists of this multinational project and various local activists of organizations and community projects.
