President of the Sri Lanka-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group visits the Embassy of Cuba

Sri Lanka October 9, 2021 The member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, Professor Tissa Vitarana, paid a visit to the Cuban Embassy, being received by Ambassador Andrés Marcelo Gonzalez Garrido.

Professor Tissa Vitarana chairs the Sri Lanka-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group, and is also the Secretary General of the party, "Lanka Sama Samaja Party"( Sri Lanka Equal Society Party),  (LSSP).

The fraternal meeting took place within the framework of the 54th anniversary of the fall of the heroic revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara, who was remembered.

The prominent Sri Lankan university professor and politician presented to the Norwegian Nobel Prize Committee, the candidacy of the Cuban “Henry Reeve” Brigade, for the Nobel Peace Prize for his contribution to global health, for which his work deserved their recognition and praise in times of health emergency created by the COVID 19 pandemic.
