President of the Barbados Supreme Court settles an official visit to Cuba.

Sir Marston Gibson, President of the Supreme Court of Barbados, confirmed in a meeting with the Cuban ambassador, Francisco Fernández, that he will honor the invitation extended by his counterpart, Dr. Rubén Remigio Ferro, President of the Supreme People's Court, to make an official visit to Cuba, while attending the VII International Justice and Law Encounter, to be held in Havana from May 23 to 25, 2018. The highest representative of the Barbadian judiciary has been invited to give a keynote address at the aforementioned event. At the bilateral level, professional exchange areas will be identified and a Memorandum of Understanding is planned to be signed of as a way to develop a wider cooperation framework. Among other interests, given that it is his first incursion into our country, the dignitary will make a tour of the province of Ciego de Ávila to visit Baraguá, where a community of Antillean emigrants exists since the early twentieth century, which includes numerous Barbadians and their descendants .
