Ljubljana, 20 May 2019. The second edition of ”The Latin America and the Caribbean Days " in Slovenia, an event organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country, began today, with a strong presence of Cuba, both through the delegation and the spaces dedicated to the Caribbean country, in the sections of economy, science, and culture.
The event was inaugurated at the headquarters of the Ljubljana Cultural and Congress Center, Cankarjev dom, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, H.E. Mr. Miro Cerar and it will last until Saturday, 25 May.
In the margins program, whose central theme is cooperation and scientific and commercial bonds between Slovenia and the region of Latin America and the Caribbean, a forum will be dedicated to the presentation of business opportunities in Cuba.
The Cuban delegation will be composed of Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios, Ambassador of Cuba to Slovenia; Inalvis Bonachea González, Director of European Trade Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX, by its Spanish acronym); Natacha Gumá García and Belkis Tatiana Barnet Izquierdo, Director of Legal Affairs and Official of the Chamber of Commerce respectively; Maribel Vega Simón, Representative of BioCubaFarma and Sara Smith de Castro, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Cuban Embassy.
As part of the cultural program of the event, the Cuban film “¿Por qué lloran mis amigas?” ("Why do my friends cry?") will be screened on Saturday, 25 May, at the headquarters of the Slovenia´s Film Archives.
