Liberian newspaper The New Dawn publishes article on Cuba's fight against blockade

In its Tuesday edition from October 24th , in the section titled "More Headlines News" the Liberian newspaper The New Dawn published the article "Cuban Embassy here wants U.S blockade lifting". The libel is based on information transmitted the previous day at a press conference by the Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba in Liberia, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, on the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed for more than fifty years, unilaterally, by the government of the United States against Cuba.

Published by the editorialist Ethel Tweh, the article emphasizes the new context of tightening the blockade under the presidency of Donald Trump, while highlighting some of the measures that exemplify it. He also mentions the withdrawal of the new policy dictated by the US president in the process of normalization of relations with Cuba, compared to the Obama administration, particularly the strengthening of the sanctions policy of the blockade against third countries entities, financial and commercial institutions given the extraterritorial nature of this policy.

Headquartered in Monrovia, the capital, The New Dawn is a bilingual newspaper (English and French) created by the Searchligths Communications Corporation, whose center of interest is the reality, socially, politically and fundamentally economic of Liberia. It is one of the most widely read publications in the capital.
