Indonesian parliamentary delegation will visit Cuba

Jakarta May 9 - The Honorable Mr. Dave Akbarshah Fikarno, Diputy Chairperson  of the Inter Parliamentary Cooperation Committee of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, received Ambassador of Cuba, HE Nirsia Castro Guevara at the headquarters of the legislative body.

Mr. Fikarno heads an Indonesian parliamentary delegation that will visit Cuba soon. During the meeting were discussed some aspects related to the exchange between both parliaments, as well as the interest of strengthening areas of cooperation such as tourism, public health and mining.

The meeting was also attended by Mrs. Irine Yusiana Roba, Mr. Jerry Adhitya Ksatria Sambuaga, and Mr. Putu Supadma Rudana, members of the Indonesian House of Representatives and members of the delegation that will visit the Caribbean island.

The occasion was propitious to share with the parliamentarians the Cuban position in relation to the tougher measures of the blockade against the island imposed by the United States administration, in particular the decision to apply Title III of the Helms Burton Act.

Mr. Fikano and the delegation that will accompany him will visit Cuba between May 19 and 25. During their stay in Cuba they will be received at the headquarters of the National Assembly of Popular Power, as well as hold meetings with the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba and visit places of historical interest in Havana.
