Ian Lavery MP is the eighteenth British Member of Parliament to formally nominate the Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. In support of his nomination Ian said:
“I’m delighted to have been able to officially nominate the doctors, nurses and technicians of Cuba’s Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. I truly believe they deserve recognition for the wonderful humanitarianism and solidarity they have shown during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the work they do providing health care around the world in emergency situations.”
“Cuba has been a beacon of internationalism for many decades, from its role in fighting against South African apartheid troops in Angola in the 1980s, to the medical brigades that served in West Africa during the Ebola outbreak, it is an inspirational example of international cooperation and peace between nations.”
