Cyprus, January 30th, 2018. - On the occasion of the 165th Birth Anniversary of José Martí, an act to remember such an important date was celebrated at the place of his monument in Nicosia where members of the Cyprus - Cuba Friendship Association, executives and officials of the Workers' Progressive Party (AKEL), of the Pan-Cypriot Labor Federation, of the EDON Youth organization, as well as Cuban residents, members of the Cuban Embassy, among other friends were gathered.
The central words were in charge of the Head of International Relations of AKEL, Vera Polycarpou and the Ambassador of the Greater Antilles in Cyprus, Omar Leyva, who highlighted the broad actions of our National Hero, his legacy to future generations and a source of inspiration for the Cuban revolutionary work.
Very emotional was the moment in which the attendees deposited a high number of floral offerings to honor the Apostle, which gave way to the Cuban singer Pedro Guevara, who singing the Guantanamera, remembered all the simple verses of our José Martí.
