The Cuban Embassy in Riyadh hosted on February 10th evening a reception party at the Cultural Palace of the Saudi capital, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.
The gathering was attended from the Saudi side by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, accompanied by the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Protocol, His Excellency Ambassador Azzam bin Abdulkarim Al-Qain.
The Cuban Ambassador Orlando Requeijo remarked in his keynote speech the conquests obtained by Cuba, acknowledged worldwide since the triumph of its Revolution; the growing development of bilateral relations between Cuba and the Saudi kingdom; as well as the preparation for the coming referendum to adopt the new Cuban Constitution; among other issues.
The gathering was also attended by officials from the Foreign Ministry, the Saudi Arabia-Latin America Friendship Group at the Shura Council, the Saudi Fund for Development, the Ministry of Health, Saudi businesspeople, personalities, journalists and friends, as well as members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Riyadh. A representation of the Cuban health professionals who are currently working in the kingdom and the Cuban resident community in Riyadh were also attending the function.
