Wellington, March 22nd, 2018.- Cuban Ambassador Mario Alzugaray, payed a courtesy call to the chairperson of New Zealand Parliament Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade Committee, Simon O'Connor.
During the meeting both parties exchanged point of views on diverse international matters. They also exchange on issues of mutual interest in the context of bilateral relations.
The MP for the National Party expressed his interest in the current situation of Cuba, development prospects and links with the Pacific.
Simon O’Connor also explained to the Cuban diplomat about the process of renewal of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups, which are in the course of being renewed taking into consideration the beginning of a new legislative period in November 2017, date in which he assumed as chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade.
