Dublin, September 18, 2019. Cuban Ambassador Hugo Rene Ramos Milanés held a working meeting with a group of Sinn Féin party militants, who will travel to Cuba in coordination with the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples.

After exchanging about the program of activities to be carried out in Cuba by various provinces, the ambassador offered an overview of Cuban current affairs in the political, economic and social spheres. Special interest caused the approval process of the new constitution and the transformations resulting from this important event taking place in the country.

During the meeting, the ties of friendship between the Sinn Féin party and Cuba were highlighted, and especially the solidarity in the confrontation with the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States Government against the Cuban people for more than six decades, with the vain desire to destroy the Revolution.

The words of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz were reminded of the republican fighters of Northern Ireland: "The tyrants tremble before men capable of giving their lives for their ideals after 60 days of hunger strike".
