Ottawa, September 10.- The Canadian Network on Cuba and the friend Bill Ryan launched today the initiative “CubaCan 6060 Home Run for Cuba” in honour of the 60th anniversaries of the Cuban National Baseball Series and the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution.
This campaign aims to donate 600 bats crafted by Bill Ryan to the teams participating in this National Series. The CubaCan bats have been widely accepted among the players of all the teams in the national championship and have been an important support in their training for international events and during the local series. Moreover, it has been a symbol of the strong solidarity movement with Cuba in this northern nation.
The Canadian Network on Cuba brings together more than 50,000 Canadians and has among its main objectives to bring the people of both countries closer together, denounce the U.S. blockade against our island and defend the conquests of the Cuban Revolution.
The “CubaCan 6060” campaign links the largest mass organization in our country with the main national sporting event. In a press release, its organizers highlight that this project aims to support Cuba in the midst of a serious global pandemic, whose negative consequences are being felt more due to the policy tightening of the current U.S. administration against our people.
