Cuba was present at the World Al-Quds Day in Tehran

Responding to an invitation from Iranian friends of solidarity, the Cuban Embassy in Tehran participated in a massive march in Tehran and other major cities of the Persian nation to celebrate World Jerusalem (Al-Quds) Day.

The Cuban diplomatic mission was represented by its Third Secretary Junior Peñalver Quevedo, who joined the executives and fellows of House of Latin America (HOLA), other members of the accredited diplomatic corps and the Iranian people in general during the massive demonstration to support the just cause of the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli occupation.

In the capital's march, which was headed by President Hassan Rouhani and several government officials, HOLA hoisted a banner backing Palestine and highlighting the flags of several countries which joined in their pronouncement.

The founding leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Khomeini, took the initiative in 1979 to dedicate the last Friday of the Holy Month of Ramadan to celebrate World Al-Quds Day, seeking to unify the Muslim world around solidarity with the cause of the Palestinian people and against the Zionist regime of Israel.
