Cuba was among the nations present at the cultural gala for the national holiday "Novruz" carried out by the University of Languages of Azerbaijan.
Under the title "La Multicultural Fiesta Novruz", the event was attended by the diplomatic corps accredited in Baku, teachers and students of this high center of studies.
The rector of the university, academician Kamal Abdulla, in his inauguration words highlighted that the gala was a sample of the tolerance and multiculturalism that Azerbaijan offers to foreigners.
He appreciated that the Novruz traditions have penetrated the deepest layers of the spiritual life of the Azeri people and occupy an exceptional place in the formation of the national and cultural values of their nation.
For his part, Cuban Ambassador Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, thanked the invitation to the event and highlighted the enthusiasm of the students to reflect the dances and songs of different nations.
