Cuba-Jamaica relations remain positive

The Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, was received yesterday afternoon at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica by Ambassador Marsha Coore Lobban, Acting Director of the Caribbean and Americas Department, to review the main issues of the bilateral agenda.

Kingston, Jamaica, 30 June 2020. The Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, was received yesterday afternoon at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica by Ambassador Marsha Coore Lobban, Acting Director of the Caribbean and Americas Department, to review the main issues of the bilateral agenda.

The meeting took place in a fraternal, friendly environment, in full observance of physical distancing and protection measures adopted in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Both diplomats confirmed the positive state of relations between the two countries and expressed the willingness of their respective Governments to continue deepening and diversifying cooperation, both bilaterally and within the framework of Cuba-CARICOM agreements.

The Cuban Ambassador took the opportunity to thank Jamaica's traditional position in support for the international community's demand to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US Government against Cuba.
