Azerbaijan press highlights performance of Cuban guitarists in Baku

"Cuban guitarists shine on the stage of the Hotel Landmark in Azerbaijan," the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) called the performance of Cuban guitarists Eduardo Martín and Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.

The agency remarks that in the concert entitled "Sones y Flores" 19 songs composed by Martín were heard and that it corresponded to the tour made by the talented musicians in Europe.

AZERTAC comments that the concert has received an excellent reception by the Azerbaijani public and that the audience valued very beautiful the pieces composed of "Sones y flores" that recreates the evolution of Cuba's most famous musical genre, "Hasta Alicia baila" is a work based on an urban musical genre that originated at the end of the 19th century, "Mirándote" which was originally written as a short piece for solo guitar, included in a series entitled "Album of Innocence" dedicated to Eduardo's son, Darío. This lullaby recreates the thoughts and feelings, fear, affection, pride and hope that a father experiences as he sees his young son discovering the world while playing outside in the garden, "Suite Habana" originally made for guitar and flute and other great pieces that made a great impression on the listeners.

The media highlighted the statements made by the Cuban ambassador in this nation who said that with this presentation the artists ratified the prestige of the Cuban guitar school and offered the most authentic music of the Island.

The concert was attended by more than 250 people among these official figures, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan, professors and university students from various educational centers.
