The Ambassador of Cuba presents to the Iranian media the report on the effects of the Blockade on Cuba of the year 2019

Tehran, November 3, 2019. Alexis Bandrich Vega, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in the Islamic Republic of Iran, presented this morning, before the most important Iranian media, the report on the ef fects of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba in 2019. In concise intervention, the Head of the Diplomatic Mission offered evidence on the resurgence of this failed and genocidal policy, highlighting the increasingly palpable effects of its extraterritorial application.
Persian journalists showed special interest in the chronology of the measures that have been taken by the US government in the last two years, which demonstrate their purpose of consolidating the confrontation and hostility against the international community but especially against our people. They were interested in knowing how Cubans face - without beating ourselves - a policy that is already 60 years old, the impact of the application of Chapter III of the Helms-Burton Act, as well as the prospects of counteracting the Blocking that emanates from the deepening of trade relations with countries such as Russia, China and Iran. Finally, the Cuban Ambassador thanked the support historically given by Iran to the draft resolution against the blockade and said that Cuba has Iranian support on November 6 and 7 at the 74th UN General Assembly.
