The 4th anniversary of the passing away of the Commander in Chief was commemorated in Canada.

Ottawa, November 25, 2020.- The Embassy of Cuba in Canada commemorated the 4th anniversary of the passing away of the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, together with members of the solidarity organizations, Ottawa Cuba Connections, the Outaouais-Cuba Friendship Association, the Communist Party of Canada, the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) and the Alba Social Movement. 

A vigil was held at the headquarters of the diplomatic mission in tribute to the Commander in Chief. On behalf of the Canadian organizations, Maricarmen Guevara, from Ottawa Cuba Connections, recalled Fidel's revolutionary work and his permanent struggle in favour of just causes.  

For her part, Ambassador Josefina Vidal referred to Fidel's legacy and ideas, which are still alive among Cubans and the many friends of Cuba in Canada, whom she thanked for coming to celebrate his life, as an expression of their unconditional support and solidarity to the Island.

As part of the day of remembrance of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, academics, Cuban residents, trade union members and members of solidarity movements with Cuba in Canada sent messages of admiration and respect for the legacy of the Commander in Chief.
